The Story of the Mary Celeste

When they got closer they could read the name: the Mary Celeste. It was moving strangely. Something .......... (4) was happening. They .......... (5) see something was wrong and they could not understand. They thought .......... (6) was ill. The captain sent some officers to see .......... (7) had happened. When they got there they could not see .......... (8) or hear any voices. There was not one man alive or dead. Nothing was broken, there were no signs of a fight. They found food, water, clothes, a five-pound .......... (9) and a piece of paper with a .......... (10) and place on it: it had been written ten days before they .......... (11) the ship and at that time the ship had been 750 miles away. What did this mean? That it had sailed 750 miles with nobody in it. The captains had been good friends .......... (12) the crew did not leave the ship there but took it back to New York. People .......... (13) unable to find out anything about it. It had left full of men but .......... (14) ever saw them again. Where had they gone? Why had they left the ship? Nobody .......... (15) the answer.
